Payment and Area Calculation
TreeDetect operates on a pay-as-you-go model — you only pay for the area actually surveyed.
The surveyed area is calculated using two cross-verified data sources:
- Planned area – based on the polygon(s) defined in the Plan section of the map.
- Measured area – estimated coverage based on the uploaded raw data (image geometry or LiDAR point cloud density).
Comparing the Two Areas
The system automatically compares both values:
- By default, the smaller value (the planned area) is used for billing.
- If the difference ≥ 10%, the actual measured area (derived from uploaded data) is used instead — this ensures fair billing when the surveyed coverage significantly differs from the plan.
The area considered for billing is clearly highlighted on the payment panel.
What You See on the Payment Panel
- Planned area (ha): total polygon area drawn on the map.
- Measured area (ha): estimated coverage based on uploaded files.
- Difference: percentage variation between the two values.
- Area used for calculation: selected based on the above comparison rule.
- Service type: Photogrammetry or LiDAR.
- Requested outputs: Complete tree inventory, Tree count, Digital Terrain Model.
- Currency: selected billing currency.
- Total amount: unit price (HUF/EUR/USD per ha) × calculated area, including any discounts.
✅ Advantage: The dual-source area calculation (planned + actual coverage) ensures transparent and fair billing while protecting users from over- or under-measurement discrepancies.
