Flight
The key to successful data acquisition is a well-planned and properly executed flight.
The KML file exported from TreeDetect contains the exact boundaries of the survey area and can be directly imported into flight planning software such as DJI Pilot 2 or DroneDeploy.
Preparing for the Flight
- Import the KML file: load the KML exported from TreeDetect into your preferred flight planning software.
- Set flight parameters: configure all parameters exactly as recommended by TreeDetect (altitude, overlap, speed, camera angle, LiDAR sampling mode, etc.).
- Adjust safety settings: properly define all safety parameters, such as fail-safe mode, return-to-home (RTH) altitude, and low-battery alerts.
⚠️ Note: Incorrect parameters may lead to incomplete or inaccurate data capture!
Executing the Flight
Once all parameters are configured, the flight can be carried out automatically.
Modern flight planning software allows drones to perform missions autonomously based on the uploaded route and settings.
- Monitor flight status continuously.
- Check battery levels and connection stability.
- Be prepared to take manual control in case of emergencies.
⚠️ Warning: Always conduct flights only under safe and stable weather conditions, and ensure full compliance with all applicable aviation regulations!
